Privacy Policy

AgentReady (“the extension”, “we”, “us”) is a Chrome extension that scans WooCommerce stores for agentic-commerce readiness and produces a score and report. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles, why, and your choices. We designed AgentReady to be privacy-first: it collects no personal information about you, and the analytics it does send are anonymous.

Single purpose

AgentReady has one purpose: to analyze a website you choose and report how ready it is for AI shopping agents and agentic-commerce protocols.

What the extension does on a page

When you click the AgentReady icon and run a scan on the active tab, the extension reads publicly available information about that page and site — its HTML/DOM structure, structured data (JSON-LD), meta tags, forms, and public endpoints such as /wp-json/, /robots.txt, /llms.txt, and /.well-known/*. This analysis happens to produce your score. The extension only accesses a site when you actively run a scan on it; it does not run in the background on the pages you browse.

The resulting report is stored locally on your device (in chrome.storage.local) so it can be shown again and compared on re-scan. Local data never leaves your device except as described below.

Data we send off your device

1. Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how the extension is used and improve it, AgentReady sends anonymous event data to our backend. This data contains no personal information and is not used to identify or track you across sites. Specifically:

• A random installation ID (a UUID generated on install). It is not linked to your identity, email, or browser account.
• The extension version and an event timestamp.
• For a completed scan: the score, grade, per-category scores, scan duration, counts of passed/failed checks, and number of recommendations.
• The scanned site’s domain as an irreversible SHA-256 hash — we never receive or store the actual domain or URL you scanned.
• For errors: a short error message (to diagnose failures).

We do not collect your browsing history, the contents of pages you visit, personal identifiers, IP-based profiles, or the real domains/URLs you scan.

Opt out: you can disable analytics entirely in the extension’s Settings panel, under “Privacy” — uncheck “Share anonymous usage analytics.” When disabled, no analytics events are sent.

2. License activation (Pro)

If you purchase and activate AgentReady Pro, the extension sends your license key and a random machine ID (a UUID, not tied to your identity) to our activation endpoint to validate the license and enforce the per-license device limit. The machine ID exists only to count device activations for your key.

3. Purchases

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. When you buy a license, we receive your email address from Stripe solely to deliver your license key (sent via our email provider, Resend). We use your email only for license delivery and license-related notices (for example, a notice when your key is activated on a new device).

4. Waitlist & product updates

If you submit your email through the waitlist form on our website, we store your email address with our email provider, Resend, and use it to:

• Send you a confirmation that you joined the waitlist.
• Notify you about our products — including when our upcoming tools (Agent Analytics and Hosted MCP) launch, significant updates to AgentReady, and the occasional note on getting your store ready for AI shopping agents.

By joining the waitlist you consent to receiving these product and marketing emails. We send them no more often than needed and never sell or share your address for others’ marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any email we send, or by emailing privacy@ecommerceagent.app. Unsubscribing stops the product and marketing emails; we may still send essential, transactional messages (such as license delivery) if you are a paying customer.

Where data is stored

• On your device: cached reports, scan history, settings, machine ID, and license status (chrome.storage.local).
• On our backend: anonymous analytics counts, and — for Pro customers — license records (license key, purchase email, activation device IDs). Hosted on Netlify.
• With Resend: waitlist and purchase email addresses, used to deliver the emails described above.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not share your email address for any other company’s marketing.
• We do not transfer your data to third parties except the service providers needed to run the product (Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Netlify for hosting), and only for those stated purposes.
• We do not track you across websites.

Permissions and why we request them

• activeTab + host access (requested only when you scan): to read the page you choose to scan.
• scripting: to run the analysis on the active tab during a scan.
• storage: to save your reports, settings, and license status locally.
• downloads: to save an exported report file when you choose to export.

Data retention

Local data persists until you remove it (uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage deletes it). Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate. License records are retained for the life of the license to support activation. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Children

AgentReady is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
